Type Form/Counterform

In the world of design, it's often the smallest details that make the greatest impact. In my latest project, I did an exploration of typography, diving deep into the formal qualities of six distinct letters, carefully selected from seven different diverse typefaces. The typefaces used in this piece are Fette Fraktur, Stempel Garamond, Bauer Bodoni, Rockwell, Futura, Helvetica, and Platelet. Throughout this process, I tried to highlight the intricacies that reside within each, seemingly ordinary, letterform, while examining the elegant curves, sharp angles, and unique characteristics that define each letter.
my goal for this piece was to show a distinct level of hierarchy in the letterforms. i wanted to take a risk and only use cyan and magenta, to see how those colors alone can work together. i found this piece to be the most compositionally pleasing, with the color being a nice added element.

below is the initial process- a survey of typographic bits. describing physical characteristics, their occupation, and their emotional characteristics, and what i believe their occupation could be. the bottom right photo is another variation i designed has a dramatic effect by being black only. the hierarchy is very clear in this piece.
